PROCEDURE AND STEPS FOR LICENCE :-

Licence from Food and Drugs Control Administration is a must for operating Blood Bank. Under the Statutory provisions laid down in DCA, 1940, a Blood Bank cannot be run without valid licence u/s. 18(c) of the Act. For the purpose to obtain a fresh licence, necessary steps are listed below:

  • Approval of the premises.
  • Application in Form 27-C
  • Requisite Fee of Rs.7,500/- credited under the correct head of account.
  • Documents and other enclosures as per the check list.
  • Joint Inspection from a Team of the West Zone Officers and Local Officers.
  • Adequate machinery's, space, equipment, staff records and reagents.
