To secure purity of food to maintain public health and also to eradicate the evil of adulteration The Government of Gujarat under the ministry of Health and Family welfare organized the Commissionerate, Food & Drugs Control Administration Gujarat State for enforcement of the prevention of Food Adulteration Act 1954 in Gujarat in the year 1979. The organizational set up of commissionerate Food & Drugs Control Administration is as under :-
