The C.L. & S.C. Paraplegia Hospital,Training & Research Center was started in 1978 with a benevolent donation of 15 lacs rupees by Shri. Chimanbhai Lalbhai & Shri. Sudhirbhai Chimanbhai.

This 80 bedded hospital has 3 wards wherein male, female & pediatric patients are treated on inpatient basis.OPDs are conducted twice a week on Mondays & Thursdays.

HIGHLIGHTS:

Patient follow up service: This service was started by the government in 1984 for those patients who have received treatment at this hospital & are unable to come for regular follow up due to financial or familial reasons so as to prevent a lapse in their specialist treatment & rehabilitation. A team of orthopedic surgeon, acupressure therapist, physiotherapist, orthotic & prosthetic engineer, medical social worker visits remote areas to identify such patients & provides them with expert advice & care.

Services Available :

This hospital treats patients with paraplegia i.e. paralysis of both the lower limbs, due to various conditions of the spine& spinal cord like traumatic fractures, tuberculosis, tumors, transverse myelitis etc.
